CrazyLegs

Or Crazy Whitney?

Let me ask you...
Does running 5 miles in pouring rain and temps around 50 sound like fun to you? Well, apparently it did to 21,000 people- me being one of them.
Not the best picture, but doesn't everyone look like they're having a blast?

Every year Joel's office gets a group together to run the University of Wisconsin's CrazyLegs Classic. This is the 3rd year I have run- Joel let me do it while he watched Carson- and it was by far the wettest! It's always the last weekend in April, so you would think the weather would be gorgeous and springy. However, we choose to live in Wisconsin where the weather is bipolar in the spring and fall, so you never know what you will get.

Case in point: Yesterday was 85 degrees and sunny. Today it's 45 and oh so rainy.
Carson even got to sport shorts yesterday!

Anyway, the race was still lots of fun and Joel and Carson were there in the rain to cheer me on! These next few pictures do not do my 'wetness' justice. I literally felt like I just jumped in a swimming pool. The worst part was the sloshy, wet, squeaky shoes.

Afterwards I changed into some dry clothes- thank goodness- and ate lunch at a bar called Luckys with the whole group. Yes, we could take Carson to a bar at 3 months old and he didn't even get ID'd. Only in Wisconsin.

I am really glad that I decided to do it even though I have only run a handful of times since Carson was born. It felt really good to get out there and do what I love. Now I am super motivated to beat my personal best times and even do a few more road races this Summer.

*please dont mind my baby bangs in the pictures-- after having Carson my hair is falling out like crazy in some spots and growing oddly in other places. I feel like an akward teen again!

I know--pregnancy does crazy things to your hair! So what was your time? I was going to do the Brown Deer run today but stayed dry at the Women's Conf instead!

You go Whitney! You look so good and don't worry, the hair thing doesn't last forever. Eventually you hair will get back to normal and by that time you will probably be on to #2.

Way to go!! You're such a die hard! I was complaining to Mike all day about the rain when I had to run in and out of stores for our errands.

Nice work, Whit! Carson is changing so much in every picture I see. I sure hope we can meet up in SLC this summer, and hopefully hang at Bear Lake! Miss you!

You did decide to do it! I was super bummed that I wasn't going to do it this year, but after seeing the weather, I'm feeling much better about it! :) Good for you!
